Expat Guides

Before moving overseas, I read everything I could get my hands on.  I bought all the books, some of the CDs of seminars, and probably spent hundreds of hours on websites and forums.  I even spent a good deal of money going over the plan with a lawyer.  It took a lot of time and money, but I wanted to make the move as easy and stress-free as possible.

However, even with all that hard research, there were things I didn’t know before making my move overseas.

So I started writing my experiences for my friends who also planned to move overseas.  Eventually that grew into a book on general tips for moving overseas, and a second one for moving to Uruguay.

Moving Overseas Book

Ready to move overseas?

Moving Overseas: What You Need To Know Before You Go is all the lessons I learned from my move abroad.  It also contains tips and advice from other expats living overseas.

It has everything in it we wish we had done before leaving, and everything we did that helped make our moves simpler.

Much of what you read about moving overseas has some great theories.  However, they often leave out many of the small details you need to know.  Without these details, you’re more likely to have problems and frustrations that will cost you time, money, and energy.

Before you go, you need to get everything in place.

Make sure you are moving to a country that has the best of chance of being the right place for you.  Many people go to a country because it’s a popular destination for expats, only to find out it isn’t a place where they can live the life they want.

You don’t want to get overseas and discover you don’t have access to your money, simply because you forgot to take a few simple steps.

The Expat's Guidebook For Moving To Uruguay

Thinking about Uruguay?

If you’re thinking of moving to Uruguay, I also wrote a guidebook of the latest expat experiences with getting residency in Uruguay.  The Expat’s Guidebook for Moving to Uruguay provides you with “just the facts” about moving to Uruguay.

Watch out for much of the information about Uruguay that you can find on the Internet.  Much of it is out of date.  If you base your plans on the outdated information you’ve read in some places, you may be in for some unpleasant surprises.

Wherever you go, prepare yourself properly.

Make your move overseas something that lets you lead a better life, and a happier future.
